Analysis on the Scientific Research Outputs and Innovation Capability of China’s Provincial Forestry Scientific Research Institutions

Abstract: Taking provincial forestry research institutions as research object, this article analyzed the quantity distribution and source journals of papers published by 25 provincial forestry research institutions in China from Chinese Journal Full-text Database and Chinese Citation Database based on GIS. Using H-index and its derivative indices, it studied these institutions’ academic influence and scientific research cooperation ability, and put forward the corresponding suggestions on enhancing the overall level of scientific research and technological innovation ability of provincial forestry institutions, including increasing economic investment, strengthening research cooperation between institutions, establishing regional scientific research alliance and strengthening scientific research cooperation with forestry universities and Chinese Academy of Forestry.
