New Pattern of University’s Reading Promotion with the Common Advancing of Counselors and Librarians

Abstract: Reading promotion activity in university libraries is very meaningful. Reading promotion has always be borne by library alone. Due to the limited librarians, it is hard to promote reading to every teacher and student of various colleges, which affected reading promotion effect. In this paper, the importance of counselors’ participation in reading promotion was analyzed based on the questionnaire investigation about the status of college students' reading, and a new reading promotion mode was put forward, which asked the common advancing of counselors and librarians (including three aspects: library, counselor, librarian-counselor), so as to help students improve their reading ability, stimulate reading interests, guide reading direction and set up the correct outlook on life and values.
