Analysis on the Significance of Embedding University Librarians in Research Projects——A Case Study of Kansas University

Abstract: How to demonstrate the value of library has long been a topic of research and comment among the librarians. Library is in a sustained state of proving their contributions to the academic missions of universities. But embedded librarianship is a recommended approach to show the value of librarians. This paper explored how library can expand the concept of embedded librarianship to create research partnerships of universities. And such a relationship can enhance value to the research output of university, as well as increase the visibility of librarians’ skills and library’s resource. Embedding librarians fully into the research projects of universities can also further demonstrate the important contributions on the knowledge creation and knowledge dissemination.
