Depth Analysis on Rural Library’s Empty-shell Phenomena

Abstract

Abstract: Discussing rural library’s empty-shell phenomenon from the perspective of subjectivity has unique value. The absence of peasants’ subjectivity could be ascribed to four factors: the non-market oriented land reform and incomplete land right weakened peasants’ subjectivity; the manifest destiny mechanism restricted peasants’ subjectivity; traditional interpersonal communication influenced peasants’ subjectivity communication; patriarchal lineage concept hindered the development of democratic awareness. The establishment of peasants’ subjectivity should be arduous and endless.
