The Investigation and Analysis on Tracking Frontier Field of Doctoral Dissertation in Agriculture Sciences

Abstract: Based on the data of doctoral dissertation on the China Doctoral Dissertations Full-text Database(CDFD) during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, this paper made analysis on the distribution of years,distribution of the author affiliations, h-index, citation, and also researched the keywords. The results showed that:1)the promulgation of the plan was of benefit to the proportional promotion in frontier field; 2)the doctoral dissertation in frontier field of some agricultural universities accounted for a large proportion of all the dissertations, showing their attention to the frontier field; 3)The h-index in the frontier areas of agricultural institutions was at a normal level, and highly cited doctoral dissertations kept good track of the frontier; 4)the rate of doctoral dissertation cited in frontier field was comparatively lower, which meant it was necessary for doctoral students to attach importance to the quality and value of doctoral dissertation.
