Based on four core evaluation indexes with CNKI reports (2013-2015) as data resource, it analyzed the journals' academic influence and development trend. Six journals were the No.1 journal in their fields. The four indexes of overall journals increased in different degrees. 40 journals were selected as "Chinese Scientific and Technical Core Journals", and 16 of them ranked top 25%. From 2013 to 2015, sci-tech journals of CAAS had different levels of improvements, but some were slow or behind. The advanced journals in China in every field were not enough, and also the international leading journals were lacking.

This paper analyzed the publishing situation of Chinese journals on biological resources, including basic information, influential factors, published papers, ratio of fund papers, high frequency keywords and hot articles, as well as the setting methods and running strategies, so as to provide a theoretical reference for editors. Statistics results showed that there were only 5 Chinese journals on biotic resources, and their influence were not high. The number of published papers in this filed was limited, and the publications were basically related to plant resources. In order to adapt the powerful strategy of sci-tech periodicals, journals should actively adjust their strategy to own characteristics and serve the development of biological resources.

Data journals are new data publishing model, aiming to promote data discovery, sharing, access and reuse, expand academic influence and promote scientific research and innovation. The open-access model of data journals promotes the rapid spread of scientific research, and brings a wider audience. At the same time, article processing charge also has a negative impact, including leading to the loss of the draft, intense funding without issuance of income. This paper put forward the measures to keep the sustainable development of data journals from four aspects: grasping the quality control of manuscripts; opening up the source of multi-channel funding; building a reasonable data periodical evaluation system; providing diversified service.

The journal impact factor has been one of the most important indexes for science policy makers to evaluate the research outcomes of researchers or academic staff. However, because of the wide variation in impact factors across field, the impact factor value in one field is not comparable with the other one. It is necessary to standardize the impact factor when we need to compare the journals across field. Five standardization methods were introduced in this paper. Two of them were chosen to be compared with each other using the data from Annual Report for Chinese Academic Journal Impact Factors (2015). The standardization procedure based on journal rank was suggested to be a relatively fair method.

Taking the Journal of Information Science as an example, this paper studied the changes of characteristic parameters of generalized Lotka distribution by randomly constructing missed author information. The experimental results showed that generalized Lotka distribution was universal, while the data missing affected characteristic parameters of generalized Lotka distribution, and the influences were not entirely positive correlation. The proportion of data missing within 20% can make the affected degree of characteristic parameters lower than 5%. The statistical data should be counted as fully as possible to make the estimation of generalized Lotka distribution parameters close to the true values.

Literature measurement and statistical methods were used to analyzed the four indexes with SPSS 19.0 based on the data from 2014 China's Science and Technology Journal Citation Reports (Core) by Science and Technology Information Research Institute of China. The results showed that the amount of published articles were positive related to the cited frequency; the number and impact factor and comprehensive evaluation score in physics were positively correlated, but in agriculture and agricultural engineering, clinical medicine, electronic technology, computer science and technology showed no correlation; the cited frequency, impact factor and comprehensive evaluation score were positively correlated, especially between impact factor and comprehensive evaluation score. It illustrated that cited frequency, impact factor and comprehensive evaluation score influenced each other, and played a major role in the periodical evaluation. In addition, the appropriate number was in favour of improving cited frequency, which provided reference for periodicals to improve influence.

This paper aimed to analyze the characteristics of high cited papers of agricultural comprehensive journal, and provide reference for journal editors to select topics. Taking “Scientia Agricultura Sinica” as the research object, the annual distribution, citation frequency distribution, author analysis, subject type, citation year and citation type, of 323 highly cited papers published in 1990-2016 were analyzed, and the common laws were summarized. Results showed that, review papers accounted for a relatively small, only 7.1%. High cited papers generally were forward-looking research, hot issues, in-depth research and persistence research. Due to the technical level, scientific research conditions and other constraints, cited peak difference of high cited papers was great. The citation by master's thesis may affect the correct evaluation of a paper. The results indicated that the high cited papers published in “Scientia Agricultura Sinica” usually had significant research depth and theoretical breakthroughs, seized the key hot issues, and had a high degree of forward-looking in theory, and their authors were well-known scholars or industry authority. Thus, comprehensive agricultural journals can be targeted on the topic, improve the influence of academic journals.

The result indicated: compared with 2001, 13 out of 17 provincial agriculture science journals shortened their frequencies of publication, while monthly published journals accounted for 71%. Four of them remained the same frequencies of publication. The number of pages and number of published articles of 17 journals all significantly increased, 12 out of 17 journals used big 16mo format and five of them used 16mo format. From the perspective of format selection, 17 journals all used half measure, and the average number of pages per article of 17 journals increased from 2.40 pages to 3.79 pages. The average density per article decreased from 0.42 article per page to 0.26 article per page. The average quantity of information decreased from 6.67 articles per page to 4.22 articles per page. According to the analysis result, it proposed the suggestions, including enhancing the quality of edition, reasonably planning the layout and fully using extra space enables information density, so as to increase the amount of information of journals, scientifically and economically apply the layout and save costs.
