Analysis of Rural Residents' Information Needs Based on Hierarchy of Needs Theory

Abstract: Under the macro background of Socialist New Countryside Construction, the rural informatization has also ushered in a good opportunity for development. To promote the construction of rural informatization must effectively understand the information needs of farmers and accelerate the development of rural information service, so that farmers can actually feel the benefits of informatization. Based on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory, combined with the survey data of rural areas in Bengbu of Anhui, this paper divided the information needs of rural residents into of five aspects, including physiological information needs, safety information needs, social interaction and information needs, respected information needs, self realization needs, and expounded the present situation of rural information service according to the information need, and finally put forward the suggestions.
