General Situation and Enlightenment of Resource Construction of Canadian Research Knowledge Network(CRKN)

Abstract: Canadian Research Knowledge Network(CRKN), formerly known as Canadian National Site Licensing Project(CNSLP), was created with the support of Canadian Foundation for Innovation(CFI), 64 universities and local government in 2000, has developed into a non-profit organization of 75 members and 1.2 million service objects by 2009. CRKN greatly improved the efficiency and effect of information acquisition and academic resources sharing in Canada. This study focuses on the general situation, resource construction goal and details, funding source and sharing model, innovation and effect of service mode of CRKN. On that basis, some thoughts and enlightenment about the development of library consortia in china were put forward.
