Scientific Research Performance Evaluation of Small or Medium Size Colleges Based on the SciVal

Abstract: Based on the scientific research evaluation tool SciVal, by taking a college in University Town of Shenzhen as example, this paper explored the research performance analysis method and index selection for the same type of small and medium size scientific research units. By means of field-weighted citation impact and excellent evaluation indicator, it made the trend analysis and horizontal comparison of scientific research performance, and revealed the influence status of international scientific research, and found the preponderant discipline and mastered the disciplinary research hotspots through deep analysis of the subject area.
