A Survey on the Development of the Mobile Library in Several Universities of Gansu Province——Concurrently on the Construction of the Mobile Library of Northwest University for Nationalities

Abstract: With the development of the mobile communications and the Internet industry, the traditional information service is also undergoing tremendous changes. Mobile phones, pads and other mobile devices have become a convenient platform to access information and gradually provide a new service model connected to the Library-the mobile library. After 10 years of development, China's mobile library has greatly developed with a considerable size and application value. At present, the mobile information services in the university library are mainly carried out by three patterns including SMS text messaging service, WAP site service and APP client service. Although the development of the mobile library has been fruitful, many problems are still existing. Based on the construction of the mobile library in Gansu Province, this article tries to outline the development of the mobile library of Northwest University for Nationalities, find out the disparity, and develop the potential of new technologies and services to promote the development of the mobile library in Gansu Province.
