The Functional Location and Capacity Expansion of University Acquisition Librarians in the era of Resource Transformation

Abstract: The literature information resource in China is undergoing profound changes. The explosive growth of digital resource, the change of publishing market and the extensive use of the “we media” have been affecting the literature acquisition work of libraries. In this circumstance, the acquisition librarians of university library need to clearly define their functions to grasp the logical starting point of library service, enrich the collection resource and allocate external resource to raise the utilization ratio of library resource. Through the cultivation of a strong sense of professional honor, noble professional ethics and continuing learning habits, it can expand the abilities of acquisition librarians in university libraries.
