Characteristics of UNESCO's Humanities and Social Sciences Research: Topic, Evolution and Cooperation

Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] Analyzing the process and development achievements of the research on Humanities and Social Sciences carried out by UNESCO in recent years will help to promote China's international participation and research level, and enhance China's discourse power in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. [Method/Process]Using the methods of informetrics and scientific knowledge graph, this paper analyzes the topic structure, hotspot areas, evolution trend and international cooperation of UNESCO research in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences from 2011 to 2020. [Results/Conclusions]The research on Humanities and Social Sciences of UNESCO has obvious interdisciplinary characteristics. Ecological environment, educational research and political ecology are its hot research fields, and sustainable development is the core topic throughout. In the international cooperation of UNESCO, European countries occupy the leading position. China should rely on its advantages, pay attention to interdisciplinary research and hot field research, promote international cooperation, and enhance its influence and voice.
