Review on Reading Literacy Assessment of the Programme for International Student Assessment

Abstract: The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a rating plan initiated by the International Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to assess the knowledge and skills of young people in countries near completion of basic education. Reading literacy is one of its key areas of assessment. This paper reviewed the definition of reading literacy of PISA, the evaluation of theoretical basis and the evaluation framework system, so as to provide reference for the library community to improve the quality of young people's reading promotion service and develop scientific and effective evaluation of youth reading literacy.
