Information Literacy Education Program Based on the Whole Teaching Process of Information Retrieval Course

Abstract: It benefited college students’ deep information literacy education to improve the teaching of information retrieval course from the perspective of the integration between information retrieval course and information literacy education. The paper put forward the information literacy education program based on the whole teaching process of information retrieval course, including adopting case method in classroom teaching, making micro-course online video about information retrieval course for students’ online learning after class, taking three-dimensional measures to strengthen information retrieval practice and establishing evaluation mechanism. The plan had the characteristics which made information retrieval course and technical course complement each other in teaching contents, make learning in class fit application after class and make classroom learning and network learning interactive. The implementation of this plan improved the students' ability of comprehensive information utilization and curriculum elective rate of information retrieval course.
