Exploration on Patron-driven Acquisition Mode in Shaoxing Library

Abstract: Traditional book purchasing mode has showed some problems including readers’ dissatisfaction on purchased books and low utilization ration of library literature. Patron-driven acquisition as a new book purchasing mode, involves readers in book purchasing, which plays an active role in increasing the utilization ration of library literature, adding the index of readers’ satisfaction and improving the use of funds. This paper took Shaoxing Library as an example, and made an analysis of its patron-driven acquisition through online and offline ways, and provided reference for other public library.
