An Empirical Study on the Influence of University Librarian' s Behavior on Readers' Participation Based on SOR Model

Abstract: [Purpose/significance] Clarifying the relationship between library behavior and reader's emotion and reader's participation can help libraries manage librarians' behavior effectively, stimulate readers' positive emotion and encourage readers to participate actively, so as to improve readers' satisfaction and competitiveness of libraries.[Method/process] Taking the library of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University as an example, this paper introduces SOR model, constructs the influence relationship model of "librarian's behavior - reader's emotion - reader's participation", and uses regression model of SPSS software to empirically analyze the influence of librarian's behavior on reader's participation and reader's affection, and the intermediary role of librarian behavior and reader participation.[Result/conclusion] The results show that the librarian's behavior has a significant positive impact on reader participation, the librarian's behavior has a significant impact on reader's emotion, the reader's emotion has a significant impact on reader participation, and the reader's emotion plays a mediating role between the librarian's behavior and reader's participation.
