A Comparative Study on University Library Community Service in the Developed Countries——Taking the case of the UK, the U.S., and Japan as the examples

Abstract: The paper selects the UK, the U.S. and Japan as a case. Analyzing the history and current status of the community service from legal protection, funding sources, balancing resources, innovative services and methods, many types of multi-agency cooperation and measures and analyzes in the university libraries in these countries. Which found that: open service complete legal system, social services does not mean it's free meals and other highlights. These are a useful reference to university libraries in China.
