Abstract: Based on the research on the thesis management and use of Renmin University of China, this paper found the following problems, including incomplete collection of thesis, weak timeliness, lack of administrative regime and control measures to ensure authenticity, reliability, integrity and usability of dissertations, lack of standardized control for indexing and keyword search, as well as difficulties in obtaining the full text. From the perspective of e-thesis’ life cycle, it provided a set of measures to solve existing problems, covering improving technical equipment, enhancing functions of the existing thesis management system, establishing an index and search standard for e-thesis, strengthening cooperation across organization and relevant departments, and changing submission method of thesis, which had wide implications in ensuring the authenticity, reliability, integrity and usability of e-theses for their long term use and economic and effective management.
