Abstract: According to the characteristics of pictures and the construction practice of picture database in Library of Hebei University of Architecture, this paper introduced the steps of database construction, including platform construction, picture capture and storage, classification and indexing, acceptance and release and service model from the background, demand and principle of database construction, and put forward some problems that should be paid attention, such as protection of intellectual property rights, personnel quality, user management and data updating.
