Correlation Study of Reading Value Orientation and College Students’ Self-confidence

Abstract: Objective: the correlation between reading value orientation and college students’ self-confidence. Method: using self-acceptance scale and reading value orientation questionnaire to conduct questionnaire investigation during 180 students of reading club(experimental group) and 200 students of non-reading club(control group). Result: the total self-confidence score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the reading club students had higher reading value orientation. There was a positive correlation between reading value orientation and college students’ self-confidence. Conclusion: reading value orientation was one of the important factors to improve college students’ self-confidence. So universities should make full use of library resource to strengthen the theoretical education, and apply the reading therapy to improve college students’ self-confidence.
