The Present Situation and Development of Modern Science and Technology Application in Public Library

Abstract: Due to the great attention paid by government and the continuously increased investment, the application of modern science and technology in public library in China started late but had fast overall development speed with deepening technological application and expanding application field. However, the shortage of investment, the unbalanced development, the lack of talents and technical reserves and other issues were also widespread. This paper pointed out that public library should improve the cognitive level of scientific and technological application and disentangle the system and mechanism barriers, and then seek policy support and cooperation to build multi-level and diversified technology application system with integrated assessment of scientific and technological application benefits, so as to effectively improve the level of modern science and technology applications in public library.
