Abstract: International conference was once a reliable basis for academic assessment in China before 2000, due to the lack of conferences held or participated by China. However, with the increasingly frequent exchanges between China and western academia, there are more and more low quality and profit oriented international conference in China. The international academic conference ranking has become the new problem for the scientific research management of universities. The current ranking rules have high demands on the quantity and reliability, while it is easy to fake with high management costs. This paper proposed a improved conference ranking rule with four indexes including paper quantity collected by conference, the diversification degree of paper author, the academic level of conference chairman and the number of conference in recent 20 years, to evaluate the quality of international academic conference and make the ranking, which was not easy to fake and had low management costs.
