Preliminary Study on the Mutual Relations Between University Library’s Characteristic Collection and Characteristic Subject

Abstract: This paper discussed the mutual relations between university library’s characteristic collection and characteristic subject: on the one hand, strengthening the construction of characteristic subject resource was not only the responsibility of university library, but also the best way to construct its characteristic collection; on the other hand, the construction of characteristic collection can not only improve the library‘s service level of teaching and research, but also enhance the popularity of characteristic subject, as well as promote the construction of world-class universities and disciplines. Therefore, strengthening the construction of characteristic subject resource to promote the construction of characteristic collection, and conversely strengthening the construction of characteristic collection to promote the construction of characteristic subject, were the long-term development path of the construction of university library’s characteristic collection .
