Abstract: Urban community, as a social basic living space for residents, contains a large number of retired professional and technical personnel with senior titles, many of them own an outstanding technical quality with great energy, and have the ability to continue to engage in scientific research work. While after retirement, scattered living in the community gradually reduced their contacts with former employer, some even lost contact with each other. Therefore, the access of literature information resource restricted the play of their role in scientific research in a certain extent. Library should strengthen the literature information resource service work according to the status of these professionals in urban community, and provide subject librarian service for them to give play to retirees and promote the progress of the society.
