Abstract: Makerspace, also known as hackerspace or fab labs, refers to the work space of community operation. In 2015, the General Office of the State Council issued Guidance on Developing Makerspace in University Library, and explicitly put forward to promote the maker activities in colleges and universities. The construction of makerspace servicing college students and the society, requires that university library should not only enrich the traditional service, but also give consideration to the makerspace needs of college students, to transform from single function to composite service. Taking Liaoning University Library as example, this paper explored the new service direction of university library.
