On the Application of Social Networking Tools to Scientific Researches

Abstract: In the networked information society, social networking tools are increasingly penetrating into various areas of social life. As their functions quickly developed and evolved, social networking tools are also quickly applied to scientific researches. These tools help researchers to manage references, improve the efficiency of doing surveys and analyzing statistics, and provide a new way of communication. This paper analyzes the functions of some common social networking tools, investigates the situation of researchers’ using them, and introduces some mature tools abroad used for researches.
