Abstract: Tacit knowledge has many characteristics which is different from explicit knowledge, and brings many difficulties and challenges for knowledge management. For this, university library should build up and perfect the encouragement mechanism and development mechanism of tacit knowledge, establish harmonious and cooperative organization culture, set up and perfect the management system of tacit knowledge continuously by creating librarian's personal information file and expanding information techniques, so as to develop its important roles in students’ study, knowledge innovation and knowledge sharing as the knowledge distributing center.
