Abstract: Omnimedia carrier, with its numerous audience and strong interactivity, has brought opportunities and challenges for the development of library's comprehensive strength. Through classic examples, this paper analyzed the current situation of China's public libraries in using omnimedia to carry out information barrier-free service and reading promotion service, and pointed out the deficiency of omnimedia utilization in library reading service. On that base, it accordingly put forward relevant suggestions and measures from three aspects including building the omnimedia reading service chain, integrating literature information resource and strengthening the application of mobile media, which could provide the omnimedia reading mechanism with theoretical guidance and practical value for public libraries to carry out information resource construction, promote reading service and establish a reading society in the omnimedia environment.
