Abstract: With the development of society and the progress of science and technology, the internal and external environment of library has changed dramatically. Library management also needs to innovate to meet the challenge and competition. In this paper, the meaning and characteristics of chaos theory were briefly introduced, and the chaotic characteristics of library management were analyzed. The application of chaos theory in four aspects was pointed out, including the human-oriented management, crisis management, strategic management and organization management.
