Abstract: The construction of the rule of law society and the arrival of the era of big date raise a series of new issues concerning the proper application on criticism to the press. In the era of big data, with the help of new medium, the social impact of newspaper and magazine should not be underestimated. Only the regularization of critical news report can effectively maintain its normal functions. In order to propel the healthy development of the critical news report, one must .obey the principle of law truthfulness, the principle of making criticism within the law, the principle of democracy and equality and the principle of legal supervision within the scope of the law. Many specific problems with which critical news report confronted urgently request the speeding up of the regularization on "laws in news publishing" and the establishing of critical news report system with Chinese characteristics.
