The Management of Special type Books in University Library

Abstract: University library has a large number of special type books with significant differences to ordinary books, such as format, thickness and binding methods. There are some problems in the daily management of special type books, including inconvenience in consulting, outstanding disorder phenomenon, serious deformation and damage and shelving difficulty. In order to avoid or reduce these problems, this paper presented some targeted solutions and remedied that from daily work, like conducting book partition, increasing contents of call number, using the shelf number to locate, giving special protect to thin books and strengthening the anti-skid and anti-dump measures.
