Abstract: [Purpose/Significance] In the digital transformation process, electronic information resource is ever-increasing, which constitutes the new information environment combined with traditional paper resource. However, the seeking behavior of humanities for different types of information resource has not received enough attention, and further concentration is required. [Method/Process] This paper reviews the relevant domestic and foreign research, and selects the academic information seeking behavior model proposed by Mohammed Al-Suqri to carry out the study, which is mainly based on the "categorization-sifting-selecting resources-collecting information" process. The researchers interviewed 10 young and middle-aged Chinese modern history scholars from six domestic universities, and discussed different characteristics of these scholars' academic information seeking behaviors under the two environments by analyzing the contents of interview results. [Results/Conclusions] This study proposes the extended Al-Suqri model targeted on the detailed humanities' academic information seeking process in both paper and digital environments.
