Evaluation Model for Public Library Efficiency Based on Factor Analysis Rating Method

Abstract: This paper constructed the public library efficiency evaluation index system from two dimensions of input and output. Using super-efficiency evaluate model and factor analysis rating method to estimate the efficiency of public libraries in 31 regions of the country in 2012, it provided basis for the public library to develop appropriate development strategies. The results showed that the efficiency of public library was affected by financial allocations and local population density, which suggested that regional governments should not only increase the financial allocations, but also set the location and scale of library and optimize the collection resource allocation as well as maximize the use efficiency according to the local population density.
