Abstract: Limited intellectual freedom as a fundamental right of a person or organization has been an important part of people’s pursuit for freedom and happiness. Since intellectual freedom was presented by ALA , it has been very much concerned by the library science field and defined as the core of library concept by IFLA. This paper explored the concept of intellectual freedom to seek the difference between intellectual freedom in library and in individual or organization, and proposed that library as the social security system for intellectual freedom should pay attention to intellectual freedom and take on its responsibilities.
