Abstract: This paper introduced the connotation, function and classification of information retrieval language, and analyzed the characters of both information retrieval language and natural language. Combining with the history and present situation of the construction of information retrieval language in Chinese People's Liberation Army, it discussed the development trends of military information retrieval language.
