Abstract: Information competency is a basic quality essential for every citizen under the new media environment. Taking the undergraduate students in Beifang University of Nationalities as research objects, this paper carried out a questionnaire survey and statistic analysis from six aspects, namely information requirements, information acquisition, information recognition & evaluation, information organization & processing, information utilization and information communication, and pointed out the main problems of undergraduate students’ information competency in Beifang university of Nationalities, and then put forward the strategies about improving information competency.
