Abstract: With the increasing of literature data, library can only choose to keep some books under the resource constraints. In view of the problems about the reliability and scientificity of library collection and literature selection, a selection method based on two-factor theory was proposed. On the basis of analyzing the necessity of library collection selection, the selection process and key steps of library collection were given. Moreover, the two-factor theory in management science was used to propose a new method for the scientific collection of library books. According to the analysis of health factors and incentive factors, form the content and subject, the academic content and the author and publisher, the library literature selection to meet the basic needs and requirements of readers were analyzed.
