Abstract: This paper analyzes and compares the similarities and differences, advantages and disadvantages on six construction modes of public library service system on compactness from high to low: pure central-branch library, close central-branch library, semi-close central-branch library, loose central-branch library, close alliance, loose alliance, and puts forward some countermeasures on construction of public library service system.
