Abstract: Young librarians have increasingly become a significant force of library. To make them become the main force of library service, it must focus on capacity building and gradually train them to become subject librarians. This paper describes the importance of capacity building for young subject librarians combining with actual conditions of Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences and library ,then makes discussion and analysis by occupational capacity development, training mechanism, and incentive strategy, etc.
