Research on the Construction of Union Catalogue for University Digital Library Consortia in China

Abstract: As the core content of digital library construction project, the construction of union catalogue database is a systematic project. Compared with foreign countries, China’s university digital library union catalogue construction has existed the deficiency on the implementation of cataloging standards and the importance of user experience. According to the foreign advanced experience on the construction of WorldCat union catalog database, combined with the present situation of university digital library union catalogue construction and related management theory, suggestions were put forward such as establishing a sound management system and improving the ability and quality of staff, focusing on the preservation and management of data information in the database, which had certain guiding significance and reference value for the construction of union catalogue of digital library consortia in china.
