Analysis on the Responsibility of Subject Librarian in new Situation

Abstract: Subject librarian is the librarian who provides targeted service for counterpart’s teaching and research in university. Traditionally, subject librarian is the contact person between library and counterpart, the constructor of subject collection resource, the servant of subject information resource and the provider of reference consulting service. Facing with the new situation and requirements of building a moderately prosperous society and realizing the great rejuvenation of Chinese dream, subject librarian should pay attention to the quality training and capacity building, learn and master new media technologies, establish partnerships with counterparts and departments, develop the depth document information and embed the service into scientific research, to provide accurate and superior service.
