Study on the Research Competitiveness Evaluation of four Provincial Academies of Agricultural Sciences in Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai-Shandong Area Based on SCI Articles

Abstract: Research competitiveness evaluation is a comprehensive indicator for evaluating the whole advantages and ability of research institutes. Taking SCI as the data source, and regarding four academies of agricultural sciences in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Shandong provinces as the research objects, this paper constructed the evaluation index system of research competitiveness from three aspects of research productivity, influence and excellence by applying bibliometrics indexes covering paper quantity, citation frequency, impact factor, H index and its derived indexes, and information technologies including data mining and programming. It made the correlation analysis on paper quantity and quality of each research institution, and evaluated their research competitiveness level and subject development objectively, and then summarized the problems and put forward some suggestions through data analysis, so as to provide high quality data support and reference for agricultural scientific research and scientific management decision.
