The Application of Visualization Toolkit Based on Journal Evaluation Index

Abstract: Under the guidance of citation analysis, this paper used visualization toolkits to analyze some related essays in the field of journal evaluation index, including author cooperation, co-citation, co-word and so on. The selected visualization toolkits were HISTCITE and CITESPACE. It firstly described some basic functions of these visualization toolkits, and explained the meaning of results. Then it applied the data of WOS to the visualization toolkits, and briefly analyzed the results. Finally, it tried to use this method to find out core authors, journals and institutions, which could help new learners understand the points of this field quickly.
