The Implications of Massive Open Online Courses for University Library Services——Taking Donghua University Library as an Example

Abstract: This paper expounds the origin, background and development of massive open online course (MOOC), analyzes the different points between MOOC and traditional classroom teaching and explains the Gordian technique of MOOC. The pattern of service and the proceeding steps to implement MOOC in libraries of colleges and universities are examined. Researches on the changes of teaching and learning in MOOC can be beneficial to orientation of information service of university libraries.
