Abstract: Maritime-related college libraries with geographical advantages should know their important responsibilities, adjust to the needs of social development, and adequately play their role in the building of local information & cultural setup. Such libraries should, from a strategic perspective, have scientific orientation and planning, innovate the modes of service, transform the concepts of service, and provide individualized services, integrated services and even self-service modes. Such libraries should constantly improve related rules & regulations and the building of internal system, and give best play to their social functions, so as to serve the building of regional information & cultural setup.
