Abstract: Data journals are new data publishing model, aiming to promote data discovery, sharing, access and reuse, expand academic influence and promote scientific research and innovation. The open-access model of data journals promotes the rapid spread of scientific research, and brings a wider audience. At the same time, article processing charge also has a negative impact, including leading to the loss of the draft, intense funding without issuance of income. This paper put forward the measures to keep the sustainable development of data journals from four aspects: grasping the quality control of manuscripts; opening up the source of multi-channel funding; building a reasonable data periodical evaluation system; providing diversified service.
