Recent Changes to University Library Computer Lab Visit under Broadband China Strategy

Abstract: This essay discusses how the fact of campus gets internet service from China-telecom and Bureau of radio and television affects the number of visits to University library computer lab and on-line reading hours. A research has been done from year 2012 to year 2013 March to June. Based on the statistic, since students爷dormitories have access to Internet, the number of students visiting the computer lab has decreased by 30%. Among these students, average reading hour is 90-120 minutes for the weekdays and that figure for weekend is 120-150 minutes. There is not a change on on-line reading time given regular student's study time table. Through discussion we find that the improved campus network connection makes on-line reading go beyond library computer lab.
