The Development of Collection Development Model by User-Participation in Academic Libraries

Abstract: On the base of the challenges of current information environment and the change of users’ information needs to library collection development, this paper discussed the methods and contents of the user-participated collection development from macroscopic and microscopic aspects, and analyzed the problems of practice, and proposed countermeasures and direction of development, such as make collection development policy, adjust decision-making team of funds, improve excitation mechanism, optimize work flow, using new ideas and new technology to expand the collection acquisitions mode.
