Abstract: The rich and colorful culture is the crystallization of human civilization’s development, its influence on the human is reflected in the process of cultural dissemination and communication. As the important social cultural institution in modern society, library has played a crucial role in promoting cultural resource flow and restructuring, cultural dissemination and communication activities. This article mainly analyzed the role of library in social cultural dissemination and communication from six aspects, including that library was important in the spread and exchange of advanced social culture, library was the important place for social cultural transmission and communication, library created a platform for social cultural dissemination and communication, library promoted cultural diversity and intercultural communication, library made social cultural dissemination and communication full of vitality, the building environment of library had strong cultural appeal.
