Reflection on the Status of Paper Reading and Online Reading

Abstract: In modern information society, reading can be divided into two main forms, paper reading and online reading based on different reading carriers. Due to the accelerating pace of modern life and the convenient and fast features, online reading has played more and more important role, although a considerable number of people still preferred the comfort of paper reading. Under the impact of network environment, paper reading has faced a crisis of survival. Through the analysis on the status of these two forms, this paper compared their pros and cons, and explored their relationship in the future to find countermeasures in mutual promotion and development, so as to carry forward the charm of paper reading and guide online reading to better serve China's outstanding cultural heritage and promotion service.
